Teckis Home

Teckis is a resource site for php scripts, principally dealing with image creation and manipulation using the GD library extension. Distributed classes and functions can be found in the scriptix section of the top menu, while the other sections are devoted to general me stuff and current world events. Hopefully the navigation isn't overly confusing and you manage to find what you are looking for. If not, perhaps try emailing me.

statusMandriva a go-go ( technical ) 9th Feb 2006

A while ago I downloaded the Mandriva Linux distribution and had a lot of snags dual booting into it. Getting the wlan recognized and X (display manager) working properly proved to be a major hassle.

Now using a simple lan and router setup I have finally got it all installed and configured *almost* to how I want it. Have got Apache 2, PHP5 with GD libraries and postgreSQL all running nicely so have a good development platform on which to continue playing with code.

Will hopefully get some way toward a distributable graphing class now, so keep checking back.

statusAmended RSS pulls ( general spiel ) 22nd Jan 2006

Was doing a bit of research earlier on mirror neurons (after a pub conversation last night) and stumbled upon pbs Nova scienceNow and their web feeds.
As you might know, science dot com went subscription recently, so I have opted to replace the RSS pull in the world news -> main stories from that to Nova.
I can strongly reccommend viewing or listening to some of their stories.

statusCorrected Typo (and then some) ( general spiel ) 12th Jan 2006

Following a message from someone who actually took the time to read the lone tutorial in the scriptix section, I finally got round to spelling "ternary" correctly.
Also fixed a typo on an online CV so that the contact telephone number actually relates to my phone. Hope I didn't miss any contracts during the few days when the number was wrong.
