Journal - Diary
The Diary part of this journal is meant to contain entries of a non-programming, non-internet, non-computer type nature. Once something interesting happens in my life, I'll be sure to post a note here.
Beer = Work = Beer 2nd Sep 2004
I have just sort of figured out that:
I work to earn enough to buy beer.
I drink because I have to work.
Is there no end to this diabolical cycle of life?
(subnote: tee-totallers need not reply)
Other subnote: There are a few contact emails recently that I just simply have not got around to answering - mainly due to laziness, sometimes due to beer or work.
Until I actually update the thumbnail distro page with a GPL-GNU reference, anyone can take this paragraph as a written confirmation that I allow the use of that thumbnail class in GPL or GNU licenced projects. Would be nice if you let me know where you were using it though ¦;o) <-- the bushy browed winking smiley.
Further subnote: I really should add to this journal more often.
work and freetime 25th Jan 2004
The current project at work is requiring a number of late evenings and weekends so I have had very little free time for external projects or socializing.
If you have contacted me requesting some help with a project (or simply to chat) I hope you understand if I haven't replied.
.... and back to work
Vocation gained 16th Oct 2003
I have been working this week at a Surrey IT company and am getting to grips with the CMS system through writing an integrated module.
Might find a few hours at the weekend for forging ahead with programming tasks here, though am not promising as I've other tasks to attend to.
Interview 10th Oct 2003
Yesterday had me scampering down to Surrey for a job interview regarding a PHP developer vacancy. Was nice to drive around the ol' stamping grounds again (I spent my teens living near there) and brought back some memories. The company appeared very professional with a solid base in business theory and practice. They also had some interesting projects scheduled for the near future which helped add to the appeal.
Just have to sit back and keep my fingers crossed now, hoping that I said the right things in the interview.
Belatedly wish me luck if you want.
Won an ebay item 30th Sep 2003
Bidded on an old PC game (which I'd played a short demo of) at ebay and beat the other bidders. Am now waiting for the parcel to arrive so I have something to play on those evenings when there is nowt on the tele.
